Release Date behind one day

Hello there,
(could not find a solution to this elsewhere)

When editing podcast release date, upon importing into iTunes, the release date is a day behind from what I put in.
Is this a common situation?

I know technically, I could just put in a day ahead, but that's annoying, kind of.

Thanks for any feedback.

There are no technical issue that we are aware of. The date you enter is not altered by ID3 Editor so it must be the way iTunes is interpreting it.

What date are you using? Is it UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)? Also which time zone etc. are you in?

I am in Pacific Standard Time. For example, for today's date, I enter
2014-04-20 05:17:00.
In iTunes it shows up as April 19.
Tried entering
2014-04-20 17:17:00
Still shows up as April 19.
Also tried different times of day with no luck.

The podcasts that I have downloaded through iTunes directly have the correct corresponding release date.
How do you suppose it interprets the date from ID3Editor differently? Doesn't iTunes get the time from my computer time?

Does ID3 Editor convert my computer time into UTC? In that case, it's only 7 hours ahead of my time, in which case, the 05:17:00 time of day should retain the correct date, and with the latter time of day it would be a day ahead, not behind.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

We will of course look into this as there should not be any issues as ID3 Editor does not interpert the time entered it only checks it is in a valid format. The UTC time entered is the time used and any conversions or adjustments are by the player only.

From the podcasts you have downloaded that show the correct time, would it be possible to list the entry shown in ID3 Editor and the result shown in iTunes so that we can also test that here.
